September 12, 2000 - Doughty, former frontman for the now-defunct Soul Coughing, will embark on a North American fall tour on Sept. 14 in New Jersey. The tour has stops scheduled at a number of small clubs and colleges, and will feature acoustic performances of the artist’s new solo material, as well as songs from Soul Coughing’s catalog.
March 23, 2000 - After eight years as a band, the members of Soul Coughing have split to pursue individual projects. The band's last album, "El Oso," was its biggest chart success, climbing as high as No. 49 on the Billboard 200 album list on the strength of the single "Circles."
