Unreleased jams, alternate takes and live sessions dominate three of the four discs; the first disc is an excellent overview of Hendrix as a sideman in his pre-Experience days, putting some spirited work into recordings by Little Richard, the Isley Brothers and Jimmy Norman.

Kannapolis, NC, in the '50s to being a Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee four decades later. The ride began when he formed a humble doo-wop group by the name of The Parliament.
November 13, 2008 - Mitch Mitchell, the drummer for the Jimi Hendrix Experience, was found dead Nov. 12 in his room at the Benson Hotel in Portland, OR, apparently of natural causes, according to published reports. He was 61.
