Alt-rockers Jane's Addiction will take off on a "Theatre of the Escapists Tour" of North America to promote last year's release, "The Great Escape Artist."
Green Day is stepping in for Jane's Addiction at the Live 105 Not So Silent Night show in Oakland tonight (12/9) as last-moment replacements. A family medical emergency related to Jane's Addiction drummer Stephen Perkins has forced Jane's Addiction out of the headliner slot at the show. 
Don't be fooled by the eight years between albums: like the green-kissed rebirth dance of spring eternal, or the stubborn persistence of bathroom tile mold, the three or four stalwart sailors who man the Good Ship Jane's Addiction never really lower the flag completely. They just wait.

Jane's Addiction was inducted into Guitar Center's famous RockWalk on the Sunset Strip in West Hollywood, CA, with the band's members leaving imprints of their hands in cement on Friday (6/3). 
Furthur, featuring Phil Lesh and Bob Weir, will be joined at this year's Gathering of the Vibes festival by Jane's Addiction, Elvis Costello & The Imposters and the Rhythm Devils, featuring Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann & Keller Williams.
With CD sales no longer the income stream they once were, artists are turning more and more to video games to pay the bills.
