March 2, 2009 - Millions may know of British rock act Gomez without even realizing it; several tracks from the group's 2006 album, "How We Operate," have enjoyed primetime placement on some of today's hottest television shows. A hybrid of upbeat pop and alt-rock, the determined quintet do things a bit differently than most bands: three of the members--Ian Ball, Ben Ottewell and Tom Gray--switch off contributing lead vocals on their albums. The group's latest effort on ATO Records, "A New Tide," will hit shelves March 28.
The 32nd annual New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival kicked off on Friday (4/27) and is slated to run through May 6 with a vast lineup.
