November 25, 2009 - Patty Griffin will release her seventh album on Jan. 26, according to a press release. The gospel-inspired recording, titled "Downtown Church, was recorded live at The Downtown Presbyterian Church in Nashville with Griffin singing from the pulpit.
June 17, 2009 - Emmylou Harris, Richard Thompson and Patty Griffin will be among the artists joining forces June 26-28 at the 14th annual Kate Wolf Memorial Musical Festival at the Black Oak Ranch in Mendocino County, CA, according to a press release. The annual festival honoring the late folksinger/songwriter--who penned Harris' 1999 Grammy-nominated "Love Still Remains"--also will feature Mavis Staples, Shawn Colvin, Blind Boys of Alabama, Dave Alvin, Preservation Jazz Hall Band and Ramblin' Jack Elliott, among others.
