December 12, 1999 - The surviving members of Tripping Daisy have announced that they will not continue as a band in the wake of the death of the group's founding guitarist. The split was announced by frontman Tim DeLaughter during an interview on Dallas radio station KDGE.
November 14, 1999 - The death of Tripping Daisy's Wes Berggren was the result of an accidental overdose, according to the Dallas coroner's office, which reports that the guitarist ingested a lethal combination of cocaine, propoxyphene, and benzodiazepine. Berggren's wife found him dead in bed in their Dallas home when she woke up on Oct. 27.
