Founding Beach Boy Ordered To Stop Using Band's Name

A federal judge has ordered founding Beach Boys member Al Jardine to stop performing under the band's name until a legal battle over its use is decided later this year. Brother Records, the company that holds the trademark to the Beach Boys, filed suit against Jardine in November, claiming that his act "Beach Boys Family and Friends," which featured a trio of female singers, wasn't living up to the band's image of "cars, surf, girls and fun."
