March 10, 2009 - London-based Razorlight--fronted by enigmatic lead singer/guitarist Johnny Borrell--turns its attention to the US by releasing its third album, "Slipway Fires," in March. One-minute excerpts of five album tracks are available at the group's MySpace page. Razorlight--which also includes guitarist/vocalist Bjorn Agren, bassist Carl Dalemo and drummer Andy Burrows--returns to SXSW after making a first impression at the festival in 2004 with its retro '80s pop-rock sound. Since then, Borrell has been the focus of increasing media attention in England. Two years ago, he graced the cover of British GQ's 10th Annual Men of The Year issue, alongside Lewis Hamilton, Orlando Bloom, Sir Michael Caine and Gordon Ramsay, and appeared on the cover of British Vogue, one of the few male stars to have done so.
November 2, 2004 - Razorlight comes at the tail end of this year's new generation of "next big things" from across the pond. Fortunately, they haven’t come too late to bring us a good, original batch of brash pop songs from the streets of London.
