September 24, 2008 - The fifth annual "VH1 Hip Hop Honors," scheduled to premiere Oct. 6, will pay homage to artists who have helped pioneer the genre, including Cypress Hill, De La Soul, Naughty by Nature, Slick Rick and Too Short, according to a press release.
May 27, 2008 - New York Gov. David Paterson has pardoned Ricky " Slick Rick" Walters, who was convicted in 1991 on attempted murder and weapons charges, according to published reports. Walters, who now faces deportation to the United Kingdom, pleaded guilty to two counts of attempted murder and eight weapons charges in connection with an incident in which he shot his cousin and an innocent bystander.
November 11, 2003 - Rapper Ricky " Slick Rick" Walters returned home to New York on Saturday (11/8) after spending more than 17 months in a Florida jail, fighting a deportation order.
