The Furthur Festival, which was first assembled in 1996 by surviving members of the Grateful Dead, will return to the road for a month-long jaunt that begins on Aug. 23 near San Diego, according to Grateful Dead Productions. Headlining band the Other Ones will be joined by Ziggy Marley and the Melody Makers on all dates.

Fans of the Grateful Dead will be able to see musicians from the prototypical jam band on their own U.S. tours this spring and summer. Meanwhile, the Furthur Festival, founded in 1996 by the band's surviving members, will be resurrected this summer after a yearlong hiatus.

Additional Venues Confirmed For Ratdog Tour

The confirmed itinerary for Ratdog's fall tour -- which is scheduled to visit 27 cities by Dec. 2 -- has been released by the band's representatives. The final routing shows the tour opening on Oct. 21 in San Diego and working its way east to close with shows in three Florida cities.
