November 30, 2009 - The world wasn't exactly clamoring for a solo project by Julian Casablancas, yet The Strokes' frontman delivered an interesting effort with "Phrazes for the Young" and has backed it up with an impressive live show. The New York-born singer capped off his November Friday-night Los Angeles residency at the Downtown Palace Theatre on Friday (11/27) with a fully realized hour-long set that suggested if The Strokes' hiatus becomes a permanent split, Casablancas will survive just fine on his own.
October 28, 2009 - Julian Casablancas will play a month-long residency at The Downtown Palace Theatre in Los Angeles, according to a statement posted at his website. The Strokes frontman will perform every Friday in November (11/6, 13, 20, 27) at the downtown LA venue.
