Kris Allen will perform a series of concerts with the Berklee City Music All-Star Band May 2-4 in New York, Philadelphia and Washington, D.C. The concerts, which are open to elementary and high school students, were planned to raise awareness of the importance and need for music education, according to a press release.
The "Alright with Music" fundraiser honoring "American Idol" winner and platinum-selling recording artist, Kris Allen, raised more than $28,000 for the Music Empowers Foundation and music education for kids.
Since winning Season 8 of "American Idol," Kris Allen has certainly been getting around. Not only did Allen tour the U.S. this summer alongside fellow contestants as part of American Idol Live! this summer, he's also taken time out for a solo trek in support of his self-titled debut album.
