Nevertheless, the SoundSpike team braved the madding crowds to report back on a tiny sampling of some of the more arresting sounds that bounced out on the first day of the Austin City Limits Festival. September 7, 2010 - Though Vampire Weekend's planned Seattle-area show was canceled at the last minute late last month after frontman Ezra Koenig lost his voice, the band is back to performing -- and plans to make good on the missed gig.
August 30, 2010 - Vampire Weekend's fans turned out for the band's scheduled Sunday night (8/29) performance at Marymoor Park amphitheater in Redmond, WA, but the band canceled the show at the last minute.
March 31, 2010 - Indie-rock group Vampire Weekend is no doubt scaring up scores of new fans as frontman Ezra Koenig and co. tour in support of their new release, "Contra." The outing officially kicked off Jan. 12 after the set's launch and listening party in Los Angeles.
March 3, 2010 - The third-annual Roots Picnic--featuring headliner Vampire Weekend--is set for June 5 at Philadelphia's Penn's Landing pier, according to the band's Okayplayer website. Roots drummer Questlove also hinted in a Twitter video that the suriviving members of Run D.M.C. would be reuniting for the show.
January 6, 2010 - Indie rockers Vampire Weekend have lined up a spring headlining outing in support of the band's forthcoming second album, "Contra," which is due in stores next week.
December 17, 2009 - 'Tis the season to rock-out! Just ask Seattle music fans. At about 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday (12/15), the sell-out crowd began streaming into the WAMU theater for 107.7 The End's "Deck the Hall Ball."
