August 25, 2010 - The members of The Swell Season say they have attended grief counseling after a man took a fatal jump onto the stage during a recent performance, and are encouraging fans who were at the show to do the same. The band reportedly has even picked up the bill for some group-counseling sessions.
August 20, 2010 - A man jumped to his death from the roof of Saratoga, CA's Mountain Winery amphitheater, crashing to the stage in the middle of a performance by The Swell Season last night (8/19).
July 19, 2010 - One of the smartest bookings of the summer turned into a commercial and artistic smash at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday (7/18). A triple bill of boy-girl groups, with each act being successively more dramatic and forceful in their performance, was greeted with a full house of 17,000 patrons, and proved that each of the acts is more than a precious one-trick pony.
June 28, 2010 - Singer/songwriter St. Vincent will front Man Man and Joe Henry will partner with the Swell Season at this year's Calgary Folk Festival as part of its "arranged marriages" series, in which acts are placed in one-time-only collaborations.
March 16, 2010 - Indie-folk duo The Swell Season will return to North America this spring for another round of dates in support of the pair's third studio album, last fall's "Strict Joy."
November 25, 2009 - Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova of The Swell Season have a lot to be thankful for these days. Not only did they win an Oscar in 2007 for "Falling Slowly"--the single from the movie soundtrack "Once"--they also starred in the film.
