August 18, 2010 - Darker My Love debuted their new album "Alive As You Are" in its entirety in front of a rapt and attentive audience at Los Angeles' tiny Bootleg Theater Tuesday (8/17). Stripped down and sonically pure, gone are the shimmering feedback heavy freakouts so prevalent on their previous two releases.
August 17, 2010 - Change can be hard for some to accept in the arts, especially when a musician alters a sound that borders on the trademarked. It does not seem to matter how well the guys in Darker My Love have integrated Northern California '60s psychedelia and the Paisley Underground of L.A. in the '80s, there are haters on the Internet.
November 14, 2008 - Indie-rockers Darker My Love hit the road this month and next to build support behind their recently released sophomore studio set, "2."
March 9, 2008 - Considered something of an L.A. indie-scene supergroup when they came together in 2004 (frontman Tim Presley and drummer Andy Granelli paid their dues in punk outfit The Nerve Agents, while Granelli later spent time in The Distillers), the members of Darker My Love immediately carved out a niche for themselves by producing a steady stream of catchy and mildly psychedelic guitar workouts, and attracting a legion of fans through near-constant gigging in Hollywood's finest rock clubs. The group's impressive, self-titled debut came in 2006, but the biggest breakthrough, publicity-wise, may have happened earlier in the year when Presley and bassist Rob Barbato were tapped to join British legends The Fall as semi-permanent members on their US tour and subsequent studio album. Darker My Love remained intact, and is currently working on its sophomore studio set.
