Alt-rockers Grizzly Bear will sandwich a North American leg this fall between a pair of European treks as they continue to support this spring's "Veckatimest."

When Newsweek spoke to Trent Reznor this week about putting Nine Inch Nails on hiatus, the magazine also asked him what music he's currently listening to. He named the psych-folk group Grizzly Bear. "There's a beauty and a musicality there that I wish would have been in vogue in the late '80s, when I was forming bands," Reznor was quoted as saying. "The aesthetic I was tuned into was a more dumbed-down kind of thing."

Indie-pop quartet Grizzly Bear plans to head out on the road in May to begin supporting the band's forthcoming studio album, "Veckatimest."

Brooklyn's Grizzly Bear evolved from a solo project by singer/guitarist Ed Droste into a full-fledged group effort, one that sketches delicate songs out of baroque tools, offering a chamber-pop sensibility transfused with a skewed sense of time and rhythm. On a good day, the band sounds like The Moody Blues suddenly discovering a cache of long lost Simon and Garfunkel tunes, which is much less horrible than you would think. Band member Ed Drossen also plays in Department of Eagles, which does a similar sort of trick. Latest album "Veckatimest" is due in late May from Warp Records.

Trey Anastasio, Ben Harper Join All Points West Fest

Ben Harper, Trey Anastasio, Matt Costa, Ben Jelen and Robyn have been added to the Sunday lineup for the first All Points West Music & Arts Festival, scheduled for Aug. 8-10 at New Jersey's Liberty State Park. Additions to Friday's bill include Grizzly Bear and The Duke Spirit.
