SXSW Performer: Tristan Prettyman (San Diego, CA)

While her first album was a reflection of her pop sensibilities, Tristan Prettyman explores country/blues and folk on her sophomore effort, "Hello." A devastating break-up influenced the album but she didn't want to settle for a gloom and doom record. "After the split, I wrote a lot of angry songs, which felt normal, but the last thing I wanted was to make a depressing, break-up record. I think I had to get past those emotions to get to where I needed to go with everything else," she said in her bio.

Guster's tour plans get blown around

Guster, which has been touring behind its recently released album, "Ganging Up on the Sun," has rolled out some new shows, canceled some others, and announced that Ray LaMontagne won't be staying on board during the group's September outing.
