October 5, 2010 - The 10th annual free concert Hardly Strictly Bluegrass hit San Francisco's Golden Gate Park over the weekend (10/1-10/3), and park officials estimated that approximately 900,000 fans turned out.
October 10, 2008 - The eighth edition of the Hardly Strictly Bluegrass festival--investment banker Warren Hellman's baby--took place last week. The free show, which Hellman has spent millions to produce over the years, filled Golden Gate Park's Speedway Meadow with music-lovers of all ages. Sunshine and clear skies were icing on the cake.
April 16, 2004 - Alison Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas hit the road this spring with several other artists featured on the "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" and "Cold Mountain" soundtracks.
June 26, 2003 - Bluegrass legend Ralph Stanley and his Clinch Mountain Boys have mapped out an extensive tour with Stanley's son, Ralph Stanley II, that will visit state fairs, clubs, festivals and summer sheds.
October 29, 2001 - update: Fans of the music featured in the film "O Brother, Where Art Thou?" will have a chance to see many of those songs performed live when the Down from the Mountain tour hits the road on Friday night (1/25). The outing features artists whose music was used for the film's soundtrack, including Alison Krauss and Union Station, Emmylou Harris, and others.
