April 1, 2009 - British indie-rock band Bloc Party formed in 1999 when fellow
schoolmates Kele Okereke and Russell Lissack ran into each other at the Reading Festival in Leeds. Bass player Gordon Moakes, came on board soon after answering a classified ad in NME Magazine, and drummer Matt Tong joined the band via an audition.
January 21, 2009 - Indie-rockers Bloc Party will launch a North American tour this spring as they continue to support their latest studio release, last fall's "Intimacy."
December 15, 2008 - NorCal's big version of the alt-rock radio station-sponsored holiday concert was Live 105's annual "Not So Silent Night" which took place at Oakland's Oracle Arena on Thursday night (12/11.)
December 12, 2008 - Los Angeles radio station Indie 103.1 launched its take on the holiday concert with the first "Wreck the Halls" show at the new Club Nokia on Wednesday (12/10) night. Performing to a nearly sold out crowd, the lineup included The Pretenders, Bloc Party, Black Kids and CSS, aka Cansei de Ser Sexy.
August 4, 2008 - Over the weekend, Lollapalooza had its first sell-out since making the city its home in 2005, the Chicago Tribune reported. With ticket sales at a grand total of 225,000 over three days, it looks like the festival is officially here to stay.
April 30, 2008 - Indie rockers Bloc Party have lined up a brief run of US headlining dates surrounding their scheduled appearance at Chicago's Lollapalooza Festival in August.

April 10, 2007 - Indie rockers Bloc Party will make another return to the US later this spring, with stops planned in a few places the band wasn't able to visit after its drummer was hospitalized last fall.
