"Weird Al" Yankovic has carved a niche in the parody world since releasing his self-titled debut album in 1983. Since then, he has gone on to sell more than 13 million albums -- despite getting turned down by labels when he tried to launch his career.
Love her or loathe her, we can at least credit Lady Gaga for dragging Weird Al -- kicking, no doubt screaming and flailing his accordion-weary arms -- back into the zeitgeist.
Song parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic's 13th studio album, "Alpocalypse," is due in stores on June 21, and he'll pave the way for its release with tour dates from coast to coast.
A lengthy blog missive issued by song parodist "Weird Al" Yankovic this week appears to have been worth his while: Lady Gaga's camp has reversed course and given its blessing to the new Yankovic song "Perform This Way," which spoofs the Gaga track "Born This Way."
