Buzzcocks to perform first two albums for North American audiences

British punk legends Buzzcocks will launch a North American version of their "Another Bites Tour" this spring, playing their first two albums in full for fans in the US and Canada.

There's no shortage of speculation as to the origin of Green Day's moniker, but the theories range from an obscure sign in the sci-fi movie "Soylent Green" to an episode of "Sesame Street." Most folks just assume it refers to smoking ganja.

SXSW Performer: Buzzcocks (Manchester, UK)

Straight out of 1977, England's Buzzcocks remain almost invulnerable to time or passing fads. The band--which practically created the punk-pop genre all by itself--originally broke up in 1981, but reunited officially in 1990 and has remained together ever since. Still led by guitarist/vocalist Pete Shelley, the band issued early last year "Flat-Pack Philosophy," just its seventh studio album in a career spanning more than 20 years. --Tjames Madison
