March 26, 2009 - Uriel Jones of the Funk Brothers died late Tuesday (3/24) afternoon at a hospital in Dearborn, MI, according to The Detroit News. Jones, who was 74, died from complications from a heart attack he suffered in early February.
February 5, 2007 - Detroit music icon Joe Hunter, who played piano with The Funk Brothers, the studio band that appeared on many Motown hits, was found dead in his Detroit apartment Friday (2/2). He was 79.
