February 19, 2009 - Duffy swept the Brit Awards Wednesday (2/18) with three honors including Best Album, British Female and British Breakthrough Act, according to published reports. The Welsh singer's album, "Rockferry," was Britain's top-selling release of 2008, with worldwide sales close to five million.
August 4, 2008 - Over the weekend, Lollapalooza had its first sell-out since making the city its home in 2005, the Chicago Tribune reported. With ticket sales at a grand total of 225,000 over three days, it looks like the festival is officially here to stay.
June 4, 2008 - R&B singer Usher has landed his second consecutive No. 1 album in the US with "Here I Stand," which sold 433,000 copies during its first week in stores.
May 21, 2008 - Alt-rockers Death Cab for Cutie moved 144,000 copies of its latest set, "Narrow Stairs," during its first week in stores, enough to give the group its first No. 1 album.
