February 7, 2011 - Pendulum bassist/DJ Gareth McGrillen admits his band has been spoiled in its home country of the U.K. since the release of its 2005 debut album "Hold Your Colour." The U.K.-by-way-of-Australia band hit No. 1 with its sophomore album, "In Silico," and its third collection, "Immersion." It has achieved a fair amount of success in the U.S., but opening for Linkin Park on its North American arena tour has had its challenges.
March 10, 2009 - "In Silico" means "born from machine," and that's exactly what people can expect when they listen to Pendulum's album of the same name. Vocalist/producer Rob Swire told SoundSpike, "Even though it uses more live instruments than the last album, everything went through the process of being torn apart by the computer and reassembled in a sequencer. It was kind of artificially made and that's how we chose the name." The UK-based, electronic-tinged hard-rock band plays its music live, which, Swire said, "doesn't happen a hell of a lot these days." Pendulum formed in its hometown of Perth, Australia, in 2002, when producers Swire and Gareth McGrillen teamed up with local DJ Paul "Elhornet" Harding. Their individual roots ranged from producing drum-and-bass, breakbeat and hardcore, to playing in metal and punk bands, and their debut album, "Hold Your Colour," sold more than 100,000 copies.
January 8, 2009 - The Prodigy and Pendulum have been confirmed to appear at the Ultra Music Festival, set for Mar. 27-28 at Bicentennial Park in downtown Miami, according to a press release.
