Effortless and acrobatic are two words that could describe Martha Wainwright's singing voice--which isn't surprising when one considers her lineage: father Loudon Wainwright III and mother Canadian folk singer-songwriter Kate McGarrigle. Along with her brother, Rufus Wainwright, the family home was thoroughly steeped in music.

Noise Pop details announced

San Francisco's Noise Pop Festival, which will take place Feb. 24-March 1 at venues throughout the city, will feature Stephen Malkmus making his Noise Pop solo debut. The 17th annual fest also will feature Josh Ritter, Martha Wainwright, Antony & The Johnsons, No Age, A.C. Newman, Clues, St. Vincent, French Kicks, Ra Ra Riot, Broker West, The Morning Benders and The Submarines, according to a press release.

Wainwright, McGarrigle holiday concert announced

The McGarrigle Christmas Hour featuring Rufus Wainwright and his sister, Martha Wainwright, will be held Dec. 10 at Carnegie Hall in New York City.

Martha Wainwright's Sophomore Release Due In June

Martha Wainwright will release her newest album, "I Know You're Married But I've Got Feelings Too," June 10, according to a press release. The record follows up Wainwright's 2005 eponymous debut album, both released on Zoe/Rounder Records.
