October 17, 2001 - Country singer Lee Ann Womack and her band will embark on a holiday-season tour with the 15-piece Duke Ellington Orchestra, which features Ellington’s grandson, Mercer. The tour will begin on Nov. 29 at the Washington Township Center for the Performing Arts in Sewell, N.J. In addition to holiday standards, Womack will also perform a few of her songs.
January 26, 2001 - Though jazz drummer Louie Bellson has been hospitalized since a sports utility vehicle struck him and his wife in Los Angeles on Jan. 15, doctors predict that he will fully recover from his injuries.
