Tool carves out more tour dates

More shows continue to surface for Tool's upcoming North American run behind its long-awaited fourth album, "10,000 Days," the itinerary for which now spills into October.

Isis (Los Angeles, CA)

Although Isis is primarily an instrumental band, it is one that mainstream listeners can easily swallow. Intermittently twinkling and dirge-y guitars line the hypnotic melodies that fill the group's third and latest album, "Panopticon." Songs like "Altered Course" are reminiscent of early Tool, and, in fact, Tool bassist Justin Chancellor worked with Isis--vocalist/guitarist A. Turner, drummer A. Harris, bassist J. Caxide, guitarist M. Gallagher and electronics/guitarist/vocalist B.C. Meyer--on the song. --Christina Fuoco

Performing Friday, March 18 at 12:45 a.m. at Emo's Annex (600 Red River St.)
