August 20, 2001 - SAN FRANCISCO--It was a bit ironic. Originally brought together to milk the Beatles' success in a goofy TV show, the Monkees have spent four decades trying to establish themselves as the real deal in the eyes of rock and roll's Cool Police.
January 30, 2001 - Dubbing themselves the "original boy band," three-quarters of the Monkees are reuniting--once again--for a spring tour that kicks off on March 1. This is the third reunion tour for Micky Dolenz, Davy Jones and Peter Tork, who are hitting the road to celebrate their 35 years in the business.
TV and pop-rock icons The Monkees will celebrate their 45th anniversary in the industry with a summertime swing across the nation.
