Alt-rockers Goo Goo Dolls have added another North American leg to their itinerary as they continue supporting last year's "Something For the Rest of Us."
The Goo Goo Dolls, currently wrapping up the final dates of a spring tour, are stitching together a summer itinerary that's dominated by stops on the U.S. amphitheater circuit.

Last summer, alt-rockers Goo Goo Dolls dropped their long-awaited ninth studio album, "Something For The Rest of Us." In an interview with SoundSpike prior to its release, frontman Johnny Rzeznik talked about the inspiration behind the new songs: "It's about people who are trying to hang on to their humanity during a time when it's getting harder and harder to stay human."
Long before he dreamed up "Hallelujah" or lived a Zen lifestyle, Leonard Cohen was a cult figure known for detailing the loves and lives of tortured souls. He did little touring, as folkies such as Judy Collins and Tom Rush were the central keepers of the flame prior to the arrival of Jennifer Warnes and Jeff Buckley. 
Goo Goo Dolls have added more dates and a live Sirius XM satellite radio performance to their in-progress road trip ahead of their long-awaited new album, "Something For The Rest of Us," which surfaces next week.
Goo Goo Dolls lead singer Johnny Rzeznik said the creation of his band's ninth studio album, "Something for the Rest of Us," wasn't an easy feat. He talks figuratively of beating his head on the floor, and literally of remaking the entire album after it was finished. But now he's satisfied with the collection, which hits stores Aug. 31.
