With news of their upcoming induction to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the Beastie Boys, Guns N' Roses and many other honorees expressed gratitude, surprise and downright excitement in response to the big news.
Guns N' Roses, the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Beastie Boys are among the acts to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame next spring.
Acts nominated to be among the next class of inductees to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame include Guns N' Roses, Heart, The Cure, Joan Jett & the Blackhearts.
Amateur Beastieologists will note that the band never stays in one place long. From "Licensed to Ill" to 2007's instrumental-only "The Mix-Up," no Beastie Boys album has sounded much like the one that came before it, or the thing that would follow.
The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame announced its list of 15 nominees for induction, reaching back to the 1950s for Chuck Willis and the mid-1980s for Bon Jovi and the Beastie Boys. To be eligible, an artist's recording debuts had to occur in 1985 or earlier.
